The Cactus Tour has announced it will return to Longbow Golf Club August 5 - 7, for its second tournament at the Mesa, Ariz. gem in 2020. Considered the third tier of women’s professional golf behind the LPGA Tour and the LPGA Symetra Tour, The Cactus Tour features top local and regional women’s competitive golf.
“We hosted a successful event in April here, and we are proud to be asked for a return visit,” said Bob McNichols, General Manager of Longbow Golf Club. “We look forward to hosting another great field, and hoping to host an even larger and stronger field than the last one. But the performance bar was set pretty high in April.”
The LPGA Symetra Tour follows on the heels of The Cactus Tour returning to Longbow Golf Club for the fifth time August 11 - 16 following the road that leads to the LPGA Tour.
LPGA Tour veteran Mina Harigae of nearby Gilbert won the event played April 27-29, shooting an impressive 63-64-65 to set The Cactus Tour scoring record at -24 overall. The 2006 AJGA Heather Farr Classic champion at Longbow Golf Club, Harigae was nine shots clear of Sophia Popov finishing second at -13, and 12 shots better than former University of Arizona standout Haley Moore, who finished third at -12.
All CDC, state and local personal safety recommendations are being observed by Longbow Golf Club, The Cactus Tour and participants. The public is allowed to attend while observing the same safety recommendations as spectators.

Longbow Golf Club to Host New LPGA Symetra Tour

Longbow Golf Club is proud to be hosting a new tournament August 11 - 16, 2020 as part of the LPGA’s recently announced revised 2020 LPGA Symetra Tour schedule. The Symetra Tour will announce the official name and sponsor of the new event in the coming weeks.
Longbow Golf Club previously hosted the Symetra Tour Gateway Classic from 2013-2015 and in 2017. “This is an exciting development for Longbow Golf Club and for the surrounding community,” said Bob McNichols, General Manager of Longbow Golf Club. “We’re thrilled to once again host the LPGA Symetra Tour at Longbow Golf Club, while bringing LPGA and Symetra Tour players, tournament officials and visitors to Mesa, nearby hotels and restaurants in August, 2020.”
